Clare's message........

Good afternoon Families,
Even though it has been a short week and only a week since our last newsletter, there's still so much to share.
Being the beautiful faith-filled community we are, this weekend and the one following will see our Sacramental candidates- those children celebrating the sacraments of Reconciliation (Year 3), First Eucharist (Year 4) and Confirmation (Year 6) attending commitment masses. You, and your family, are invited to join us all.
Please see details in Faith and Mission section of this newsletter.
Snapshots of Learning will be happening this Wednesday 18th March. Starting at 1.30pm and going through to 6.30 pm, parents have an opportunity to talk with their child's teacher(s) about the must know information they want to share and to hear how their child is settling into the new school year.
Please make sure you book in a time, if you have not done so already. This can be done on the nForma portal. A communication went out two weeks ago.
We have a new staff member to introduce to our team. I am thrilled to welcome SiSi Zhang to our community. SiSi is joining our wonderful group of LSOs here at St Luke's. She will be working with classes across the school and we know she will love getting to know just how special our community is.
Yesterday, Julie Inglese and l attended a really wonderful day at the Catholic Leadership Centre in East Melbourne, listening to the renowned and highly respected international educator, Tom Sherrington. He took us through a masterclass presentation about coaching peers effectively, with purpose and integrity. Julie and l are looking forward to sharing our learnings with our team in the upcoming weeks. We began the day with for our young flourishing learners. Please take a moment to read it.
Prayer for Flourishing Learners (MACS)
Loving God,
We give thanks for the gift of education and the opportunity to learn and grow
in the light of your wisdom.
May all Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne recognise that students are created in your image,
each uniquely fashioned by your divine hands.
Grant our families, school leaders, parishes and students
the strength to face challenges with courage,
the perseverance to overcome obstacles
and the humility to recognise that true wisdom comes from you.
May our minds be open to truth,
our hearts full of mercy
and our actions reflective of the love taught by Jesus Christ.
Lord,
as our schools embark on this academic journey,
let students flourish not only as learners,
but as whole and compassionate individuals.
May the seeds of knowledge planted in their hearts,
bear fruits of virtue, wisdom and understanding.
We offer this prayer through Christ our Lord,
who is the way, the truth and the life.
Our Lady, Seat of Wisdom, pray for us.
Amen
And, on that note, have a wonderful weekend ahead. May if be full of fun, family and friends. I look forward to seeing you all next week.
