Grade 5/6

Grade 5/6 students have been very busy over the past two weeks completing all their beginning of year assessments; they have shown great resilience in getting these done and should be very proud of themselves.
In Literacy, students have continued to read their class novel, 'War Horse', learning new vocabulary and completing related grammar tasks. They have also been developing and editing their own narratives about an animal, which they have been typing good copies on their laptops.
In Mathematics, students have been learning about tenths and hundredths and their related decimals and have also been adding decimals using the addition algorithm. They have continued practising number patterns and place value.
On Thursday, three junior students joined us for the day and we all donned gloves to clean up our school, picking up rubbish for 'Clean Up Australia Day'. The students were very proud of their efforts and should be congratulated for completing this mammoth task!
