Principal's Report 

Term 3

Welcome back to Term 3! It has been wonderful to see our students return with such enthusiasm and settle quickly back into their learning routines. Our classrooms are already buzzing with engaging learning experiences, and we are looking forward to another busy and rewarding term.

There is plenty to look forward to over the coming weeks, with students participating in Book Week, Footy Day, the Secondary 7/8 Spectacular and the Year 11 Presentation Ball. These events give our students wonderful opportunities to come together, showcase their talents and enjoy memorable experiences.

As always, thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to sharing another successful term with our students, families and school community.

Recent Highlights

We are only 3 weeks into the term, but we have already seen some fantastic highlights for our students. Congratulations to our students who represented Concord School at the State Cross Country Championships, achieving some outstanding results. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and the way they represented our school.

Our Year 10 students also enjoyed an exciting Snow Camp, while our Secondary 7/8 students explored the Royal Botanic Gardens as part of their learning. We also celebrated National Pyjama Day last week, where students and staff came together to support a great cause while having some fun.

Thank you to our staff and families for helping make these experiences possible for our students.

New Bus Routes

This term has seen the introduction of a number of changes to our student transport network, including several revised bus routes to better support our widening school community. While any significant change brings some initial challenges, I would like to sincerely thank our Administration team for their tireless work behind the scenes in coordinating these changes with Dysons, as well as our families, students and staff for their patience, flexibility and support as we have worked through the inevitable teething issues together.

A particular highlight was celebrating the launch of our brand-new Wollert bus route. We were delighted to officially mark the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and warmly welcome the students who became the very first passengers on this exciting new service.

Safe Driving Around Our Campuses

The safety of our students, staff, families and visitors is our highest priority. We ask all drivers to take extra care when using the Bundoora Campus driveway, as this is a busy shared space used throughout the day by pedestrians, including students, staff and visitors. Even during quieter times, please drive slowly, remain alert and be mindful of people moving through the area.

This is also a timely reminder to drive safely around both the Bundoora and Watsonia campuses, particularly during busy drop-off and pick-up times. Please observe all posted speed limits, including School Zone 40km/h limits and the 10km/h speed limit within the bus loops when they are open for parent drop-off and pick-up outside of bus operating times. Your patience and care help create a safe environment for everyone in our school community.

Important Notice: Grimshaw Street Intersection Changes from Mid-September 2026

From mid-September until mid-2027, temporary signalised U-turns will be used  as works continue the North East Link express lanes and new Grimshaw Street bridge.

Missing Compass Notifications

Compass is aware that some parents on Microsoft email addresses (Outlook, Hotmail, Live) may not be receiving email notifications when a communication is sent from the school. Compass is working with Microsoft on a fix.

Principal’s Award- Nathan - Upper Primary

Nathan has earned this award for demonstrating the Concord School expectations. He has embraced opportunities to participate in literacy tasks with enthusiasm. 

Thankyou for showing responsibility by remaining in your allocated learning areas and making positive choices throughout the day. 

He has shown respect by knocking and patiently waiting before entering classrooms and offices to proudly share his achievements with others.
