2025 Book Week - Book an Adventure

Grandparent/Book Week Celebrations

Monday, 18 August

This year we will be celebrating Book Week on Monday, 18 August.  The theme is 'Book an Adventure,' so your child is encouraged to wear a costume around this theme or to wear their favourite book week character.

Parents and Grandparents/Special people will be invited to watch the traditional Book Week parade on the bottom yard at 9:00am.  Grandparents/Special People will then visit classrooms for a fun Book Week activity with their grandchildren after the parade (30 minute duration) and then the PIC will host a morning tea in the Hall for Grandparents.  The morning will conclude at 11:00am.

The students will then be involved in other fun Book Week activities for the remainder of the day and they will be exposed to the wonderful books that have been short-listed this year.  We have the books on display in the Library and hopefully students will be able to borrow them soon.

We are lucky to have a guest illustrator, Anne Spudvilas, who will demonstrate to the students how to create a wonderful charcoal drawing which will be on display for our Art Show in a couple of weeks.

At 3:00 p.m., we will have an end-of-day celebration assembly on the top yard, celebrating students creative costumes and characters.

We look forward to seeing some wonderful creative costumes and we are hoping parents and Grandparents/Special People can join us for the Book Week Parade on Monday 18th August at 9:00 on the bottom yard.
