Wellbeing and Inclusion

Our focus this week in our wellbeing sessions is mindfulness.

Mindfulness is the ability to be calm and present. It involves paying pure attention to what is happening in the current moment without judgment. It is one of the project's core GEM pillars (Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness) designed to build happiness and mental resilience.

TRP suggests incorporating mindfulness into your daily routine through a variety of simple activities:

  • Take a Walk: Go for a stroll while actively taking in the sights and sounds around you.
  • Quiet Activities: Focus on quiet, engaging tasks like completing a jigsaw puzzle or colouring.
  • Mindful Listening & Reading: Find a quiet space to read a book or deeply listen to your favourite music.
  • Controlled Movement: Practice controlled, purposeful movement like stretching

  • Breathing Exercises: During moments of stress, turn your attention to your breathing to help centre and calm your mind.
