Combined Maroondah and Manningham Division Cross Country:
On Tuesday 2nd June, a P.O.P.S record of thirteen runners proudly represented our school and the Ringwood District at the Combined Maroondah and Manningham Division Cross Country Carnival. The event was held at the picturesque Yarra Glen Racecourse, providing a beautiful backdrop for a day of competition.
Despite chilly temperatures that reached only 12°C and showers throughout the day, our runners tackled the challenging conditions with determination and resilience. Due to the wet weather and muddy track conditions, the course was modified at the last minute. Students in the 11-year-old and 12/13-year-old age groups completed an approximate 3km course, while the 9/10-year-olds ran approximately 2km.
Each student gave their best effort and represented our school with outstanding sportspersonship. Congratulations to all competitors on their achievements:

A special congratulations to Chloe C, who finished an outstanding 5th place out of 60 competitors in her age group. Chloe has qualified for the Eastern Region Cross Country Carnival, which will be held at Yarra Glen on Thursday 11th June. This is a fantastic achievement, and we wish her all the best.
A huge thank you to all the parents and families who generously gave their time to support our students throughout the day.
I am incredibly proud of all our runners. Your determination, perseverance, and resilience in difficult conditions were truly inspiring. Well done, Team P.O.P.S.!
