What's Been Happening — and What's Ahead

It has been a wonderfully busy time across the school, with plenty to celebrate and even more to look forward to.

Soccer Clinics: Students in Years 3 to 6 and 2/3T have been enjoying our soccer clinics, developing their skills, building teamwork, and having a great deal of fun in the process. It has been terrific to see such enthusiasm on the field.

SACSA Soccer: We are very proud of our Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 teams, who have been representing our school at SACSA Soccer. The students have shown great sportsmanship and school spirit — well done to all involved.

Year 1/2 Celebration of Learning: Our Year 1/2 families were treated to a wonderful Celebration of Learning on Tuesday evening, where students had the opportunity to share their learning and growth (and some delicious Japanese food!) with the people who matter most to them. It was a proud moment for students and staff alike.

Foundation Mid-Year Information Session: We were delighted to welcome prospective Foundation families to our mid-year information session. We are also warmly welcoming our mid-year Foundation entrants as they begin their school journey with us — we hope they and their families have felt the warmth of our community from day one.

Coming Up Next Week

There is plenty on the calendar in the days ahead, so please take note of the following:

  • Mid-Year Foundation Transition Visit — Next week sees the first of our Foundation transition visits for our new mid-year starters on Wednesday 10 June. We look forward to welcoming these little ones as they get to know their new school environment.
  • King's Birthday Public Holiday — Please note there is no school on Monday 8 June in observance of the King's Birthday public holiday.
  • P&F Meeting — Our next P&F meeting will be held after chapel on Friday 12 June. All are welcome and we encourage as many families as possible to come along.
  • Years 1–4 Excursion — Alice in Wonderland — On Friday 12 June, students in Years 1 to 4 will be heading out on an excursion to see Alice in Wonderland. We know the students are very excited — it promises to be a magical event!

As always, thank you for your continued support and engagement. It is a joy to be part of such a vibrant school community.

ELC Development Update

Exciting things continue to take shape with our Early Learning Centre development. Our Development Application is currently with Tea Tree Gully Council, and we look forward to updating the school community on progress very soon. Watch this space!

Sports Day - Friday 11 September

Please mark your calendars! Sports Day will be held on Friday, 11 September. We are looking forward to a fun day with excellent weather. More details will be provided closer to the date.

LLL - Charitable Donations Program

We're thrilled to partner with LLL Australia to bring you a meaningful way to support our school through their Charitable Donation Program.

Your generosity in making a deposit with  the LLL through a Charitable Facility Account which will assist us in upgrading our Foundation playground.

The funds you hold in your Facility will generate notional amounts of interest that is retained by LLL who will make a regular allocation to us to further our project, while your original investment remains completely untouched.

Our partnership with LLL Australia makes it simple and secure by:

  1. Opening a new LLL Charitable Facility.
  2. Nominating Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School as the preferred beneficiary of the interest your facility will forgo.

That's it! You can rest easy knowing your money is making a meaningful difference in our community—all with zero fees or charges to you.

If you would like to know more, please contact Tanya Rowland, our Business Manager.

I like to bang on a lot about the importance of breathing and how it allows oxygen to travel to our brain. It’s so important to help us function well, make good decisions and just look after general health.

In the latest Anxiety Tips Library, I found this article that encourages breathing like a chipmunk. Sounds strange but it has many benefits. It’s very easy to do too.

I hope you enjoy the read and can benefit from looking like a chipmunk.

Every blessing!
