Dear Parents, Carers, and Friends of St Brendan’s,
I cannot believe that I am writing the final newsletter for this term. It has been a long, busy, and incredibly rewarding time at St Brendan’s, with so much to celebrate and be thankful for. As we look back on the term that has been, I am filled with a deep sense of satisfaction, pride and gratitude for our beautiful school community.
We were acknowledged by our school reviewer, Kylie Graham, as a school that has made great strides of progress in every aspect of schooling over the past four years. I look forward to sharing an overview of our next School Improvement Plan (2026 - 2030) with you early in the new term. The plan has been developed with goals and targets that reflect the insights and opportunities noted by our reviewer.
Our students have worked very hard to produce their best efforts in learning. I am proud of the way they embrace opportunities to challenge themselves and to grow as confident young learners. Whether demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship in our recent sporting events, exploring new concepts in the classroom or living out our core values on a daily basis, they continue to help shape a school culture where everyone belongs. It warms my heart to see them continue to grow into the confident, kind and capable young people we know they can be. I am particularly proud of them when I conduct school tours with prospective parents. I can walk into any classroom and our students tell the visitors why St Brendan’s is a great place to learn and grow.
Crazy Hair Day
This Thursday, 17 September, we are holding a Crazy Hair Day to support the vital work of Caritas Australia in Nepal.
Our Mini Vinnies and Social Justice Action Team leaders are heading up this special event. If your child would like to participate and showcase a crazy or creative hairstyle, please send a gold coin donation to school with them.
Please note the following guidelines for the day:
Hair styling and sprays: All temporary colours and styling must be applied at home before arriving at school.
Wigs and accessories: Creative wigs, hats and hair accessories are welcome, provided they do not disrupt classroom learning.
Clothing: Students are required to wear their regular school uniform alongside their crazy hair.
Thank you for your ongoing generosity and support of this important global cause.
Footy Colours Day - Friday 18th September. Parade at 2.30pm
This Friday, all students are invited to wear their AFL, soccer or sporting club colours to school. Students are welcome to wear a jersey, scarf or beanie to show support for their favourite team.
Parents are warmly invited to join us for our team parade at 2:30 pm.
Sunny weather: The parade will take place on the basketball court.
Wet weather: The parade will move inside to the Multi Purpose Room.
We look forward to seeing a vibrant display of team spirit. It will be a great way to end the term.
I want to extend a very sincere and grateful thank you to our dedicated staff, who care deeply about your children and work with such passion and energy to make St Brendan's a school of which we can all be truly proud.
As we conclude the term and move into the holidays, I wish every family a safe, happy and relaxing break with their children. I hope the weather is kind and that you can all have some time to bask in the beautiful Spring sunshine.Thank you for your ongoing partnership, support and dedication to our community.
