French Tour

On Thursday 11 September, a very excited group of 11 students and three teachers set off on an unforgettable two-week French exchange to Lannion, a beautiful little town in Brittany, followed by a few magical days in Paris!

From the moment we arrived, our French host families welcomed us with open arms. We got to experience true Breton hospitality by attending classes at Lycée Félix le Dantec, exploring the village of Lannion, and eating way too many crêpes and galettes. We also took amazing day trips to the Pink Granite Coast and the breathtaking Mont Saint-Michel, soaking up all the history and charm the region had to offer.

Then came Paris and it was just as dreamy as we imagined! We visited famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and Notre-Dame Cathedral. A highlight of our trip that we will always remember is watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night after our fancy French dinner (with escargot included of course!). Wandering through the bustling streets and speaking French with locals made us all feel truly immersed in the culture.

However, the trip wasn't just about sightseeing. It was about building friendships, improving our French, and stepping outside our comfort zones. We all came home with amazing memories, inside jokes, and a deeper appreciation for French language and life!

We are already counting down the days until February, when we will get to welcome our French friends to Australia! Hosting a French student is such a fun and rewarding experience. You will make new friends, share your culture, and maybe even pick up some new French phrases along the way. So, if you have ever thought about joining the exchange, this is your sign to go for it!

(We are looking for some extra host families for the week of 9-13 February 2026. If you are interested, please contact Madame Saward at Miriam.Saward@nossalhs.vic.edu.aufor more information.)

Merci beaucoup to our amazing teachers and host families who made this trip so special! We couldn’t have done it without you!
