Science Week

NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK!

This term, in week four, we celebrated National Science Week, Australia’s annual celebration of science. This year's theme, "Understanding the Mysteries of Space," encouraged us to explore and learn about the vast and fascinating universe beyond our planet.

Each day, our students embarked on exciting explorations. They delved into the wonders of nebulae and exoplanets, gained insights into life on the International Space Station, and imagined where space exploration might be in 50 years' time.

It was a week filled with discovery and inspiration, igniting a passion for science and the mysteries of space in our young learners.  If you would like to continue this journey, there are space-themed activities happening in Adelaide. See the following for more details:

Explore the Universe at Adelaide Planetarium

Located at the University of South Australia's Mawson Lakes campus, it offers an interactive journey through the universe. The experience includes realistic projections and enjoy full-dome movies including titles such as Starlight, Black Holes, Cosmic Collisions, Wildest Weather in the Solar System and Astronaut just to name a few. The Australian Space Discovery Centre (ASDC)

The Discovery Centre is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of the space workforce through stories of innovation, curiosity, and technology. It serves as a community hub where you can explore the latest advancements in space technologies and learn about Australia’s pivotal role in expanding both national and international space activities.
