END OF TERM WRAP UP

2026

As we come to the end of another busy and wonderful term at Hackham East Primary School, it is a great time to reflect on the diverse experiences our students and staff have enjoyed over the term.

  • Our Castle students had the opportunity to attend a vibrant Fringe Performance at the Marion Cultural Centre, immersing themselves in the arts and engaging with a live performance.
  • Year 3-6 students experienced an action-packed day at AFL Max, learning teamwork, resilience, and enjoying physical activity in a fun and energetic environment.
  • Our small class students participated in the Ladies of Variety Easter celebration at the Adelaide Zoo, exploring animal habitats and celebrating the season in memorable setting. Talking to the children after, the capybaras were a highlight of their day!
  • We also held our much-loved annual Easter Hat Parade in the front garden, where families and students gathered together to showcase creative hats and join in the fun of this Hackham East tradition.

At Hackham East Primary School, our ongoing commitment is to strengthen student outcomes across literacy, numeracy, and wellbeing. We are dedicated to supporting every child’s growth by fostering a positive learning environment and providing targeted support for staff and students.

This year, we are privileged to have Fiona Dealtry continue as our Maths Mentor, working closely with teachers to further develop our numeracy practices. In literacy, Tori Hay is starting her role as Literacy Mentor, supporting staff to implement best-practice strategies and enhance student reading, phonics and writing skills.

We are also excited to welcome Shaz Bailey as our learning partner throughout 2026. Shaz is an experienced consultant who has worked widely with a range of schools across Australia and will deliver for us a series of tailored professional development sessions, focusing on building our Inquiry approach to learning. These sessions will help nurture creativity, curiosity, and promote thinking and resilience—helping our students to engage more deeply in big concepts and who think and act to make a difference in the world around them. We are very fortunate and excited to have Shaz on board and look forward to sharing some of our staff and student learning with her support and guidance throughout this year.

Together, with the guidance of Fiona, Tori and Shaz, we look forward to another successful year where we continue to build strong foundations in Literacy, Numeracy, Inquiry and Wellbeing for every student at Hackham East.
