AUTISM INCLUSION TEACHER
2026
Hello from the Autism Inclusion Teacher,
In April, we take time to recognise Autism Acceptance or Autism Understanding month. The focus is now not just on awareness, but on acceptance and appreciation of our differences. On the 2nd of April, the United Nations marks World Autism Day, encouraging everyone to learn about and support neurodiversity.
Autism is a part of life for many in our school community, including students, families, and staff. It means that some of our friends may see, hear, or feel things in their own way and may sometimes need extra support. By understanding autism and embracing neurodiversity, we can make our school a more caring and welcoming place for everyone.
Throughout April, our students will be learning about neurodiversity—understanding that everyone’s brain works in its own wonderful way. We’ll explore how having different brains makes us unique, and how these differences help us think, learn, and solve problems in creative ways. Students will read stories, watch videos, and talk about how everyone has special strengths and faces different challenges. Please look out for photos and updates about our learning journey on Seesaw.
