Interschool Sport

Term 3 has been another busy term of sport, with a great mix of events from each of the three levels of our school sport pathway: Darebin -> Northern Metro Region -> State.

We also had a senior mixed Ultimate Frisbee team enter the State Championships. The team was led by two Year 11 students who recently represented Victoria, Alex Crawford and Jerome Pollard.

Darebin Division

The three Darebin Division sports for Term 3 were basketball, table tennis and hockey. Special mention to our superstar Year 8 girls for winning all three of their Darebin event days this term! This included combining with Year 7 students to win the Year 8 hockey event.

North Metro Region

Congratulations to our Year 8 boys badminton team that won their regional event day! The grand final was a very tight match against the badminton powerhouse Gilson College.

We also had 30 students represent our school at the NMR Athletics Carnival on August 30. There were plenty of fantastic individual and team results. Particularly the four students that qualified for a total of five events at the State Athletics Carnival at Albert Park on October 16:

Tansy Grandage-Stone (Year 8) - Long Jump & Triple Jump

Ruby Ozougwu (Year 9) - 100m & 200m

14 girls age group 4x100m relay team: Juliet Mameghan, Tansy Grandage-Stone, Vieda Simons-Moemai, Ruby Ozougwu

State Finals

The latter half of Term 3 has been exciting with three different state finals events!

Year 9/10 Boys Netball - Won two of the three pool round matches and made it through to the semi finals. They were within 2 goals at half time, but ended up losing to the eventual state champions.

Year 7/8 Girls Soccer - The team was very competitive in all three games, including a great win in one of their matches.

Year 8 Boys Badminton - Won two out of the three pool rounds to advance through to the semi final. They came up against a very strong Glen Waverley Secondary College squad who were the eventual state champions.
