A message from Stage 2
Welcome to Term 3! We hope you enjoyed a relaxing break with your children. We look forward to an exciting and productive term full of learning.
In English this term students have the opportunity to explore the story Piano Fingers, which encourages them to think about friendship, kindness, and overcoming challenges. Through reading the book, students have a chance to develop their comprehension skills by discussing the characters, events, and main ideas. They will also engage in writing activities that help them express their thoughts and feelings clearly. The unit supports students in building vocabulary and improving their ability to sequence events and make connections to their own experiences.
In our multiplication and division units over the next few weeks, students build their understanding of multiplication and division concepts. They learn how to solve problems involving equal groups, repeated addition, and sharing equally. Students practice using multiplication tables and strategies to multiply and divide numbers confidently. Activities that help students recognise patterns and solve real-life word problems are also part of the unit.
In this unit, students learn about different places and their features. They explore how people use and care for the environment, and how places are connected. Through maps and activities, students develop skills to understand their local area and beyond.
We look forward to welcoming you into our classrooms during Education Week in Week 4.
