Grade Six Liturgy

Last Thursday morning we celebrated the Leavers Liturgy for our Year Six students in our Parish Church. It was a lovely event filled with laughter, love and beautiful memories.

Fr Kasun and Fr Mark both came to lead the Liturgy, with our Year Six students performing key roles. Our Year Six Leavers read, sang and spoke beautifully throughout the ceremony and did so in a way that truly touched the hearts of the special guests, students and staff who attended.

Our Liturgy included readings and prayers specially chosen for our Leavers as well as a Rite of Passage. This included speeches from our School Captains, an address from Mr Morgan, an awards ceremony for some prizes presented by our special guests and a graduation presentation for the Year Six students. One of the special parts of the ceremony was the Leadership Handover. Our current School Captains presented our student elect for 2026 the school candle, school banner and an image of Pope Saint John Paul II. It was a significant moment for our new student leaders and we look forward to commissioning them in early 2026.

We would like to thank our invited guests, Clarence City Council Mayor, Brendan Blomeley and Deputy Mayor, Allison Ritchie, former John Paul II School Principal and Howrah Rotary Club representative, Mr George Toepfer. We would also like to thank Fr Mark and Fr Kasun for leading the liturgy and presenting awards and thank you to the families who attended to support their child. We give thanks to God for our Year Six students of 2025.

Our community has been blessed to have you in our midst and we wish you all the very best for the years to come.
