Senior Sub School Newsletter – End of Year Message to Parents and Carers

 

Dear Parents and Carers,

 

As we come to the close of another school year, the Senior Sub School team would like to take this opportunity to reflect on what has been a truly positive and rewarding year at Macleod College.

 

Across Years 10–12, our students have shown resilience, growth and commitment to their learning, whether through VCE, VCE VM or applied VET pathways. We have been proud of the way students have embraced challenges, supported one another and continued to strive for their personal best. This success is very much a shared effort, and we thank families for the ongoing partnership, encouragement and support you provide throughout the year.

 

We extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Class of 2025 as they complete their senior schooling journey. We are incredibly proud of what they have achieved and wish them every success as they move into the next stage of their lives. They will always remain part of the Macleod College community.

 

As the year concludes, we wish all families a safe, restful and enjoyable summer break. We hope this time provides an opportunity to recharge and spend time together before the new school year begins.

 

Important Reminder – Special Examination Arrangements (SEA) for Unit 3 & 4 Students (2026)

 

We would also like to remind families of important information previously shared via the Compass recently regarding Special Examination Arrangements (SEA) applications for students undertaking Unit 3 & 4 studies in 2026, including fast-track students.

 

In summary:

  • Special Examination Arrangements are provided by the VCAA to support students whose ability to access or complete external assessments is significantly impacted by a disability, illness or other condition.
  • Examples of arrangements may include extra working time, rest breaks, use of a computer or assistive technology, or separate/small group examination settings.
  • Applications are submitted to the VCAA by Macleod College and require supporting documentation, including student consent and, where applicable, a health professional statement.
  • The deadline for all documentation is Friday, 27 February 2026.

 

Families are asked to refer carefully to the attachments posted on Compass, which include:

  • Student consent forms

  • Health professional statement forms

 

Early application is strongly encouraged to ensure appropriate supports can be considered and, if approved, implemented well ahead of examination periods.
