Middle Years Update – End of Year Wrap Up

As we reach the end of another school year, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on what has been a busy, rewarding and highly successful year across our Middle Years.

Year 7 students participated in an excursion to WaterMarc, focusing on water safety education. This experience was both engaging and informative, allowing students to develop important life skills in a fun and practical environment. The excursion concluded with a well-earned end-of-year celebration, giving students the chance to relax, connect and celebrate their first year of secondary school together.

Our Year 8 students recently returned from their camp at Alexandra Adventure Resort, where they embraced new challenges, strengthened friendships and demonstrated impressive resilience and teamwork. The camp provided valuable opportunities for students to step outside their comfort zones, build independence and create memories they will carry with them for years to come. It was wonderful to see students supporting one another and representing our school so positively.

Our Year 9 students took part in a Humanities fieldwork excursion, applying their classroom learning to real-world contexts. This hands-on experience supported their understanding of key concepts while encouraging curiosity, independence and critical thinking. Students approached the day with maturity and enthusiasm, and it was pleasing to see them so engaged in their learning.

As we close out the year, I would like to acknowledge the effort, growth and achievements of all our Middle Years students. It has been fantastic to watch them develop academically, socially and personally throughout the year. Thank you also to our dedicated staff and supportive families for working in partnership to ensure our students are supported and successful.

I wish all students and families a safe, restful and happy holiday break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another exciting year ahead.

Warm regards,

Jasmine Collins
