⭐Community Star Award Ceremony⭐ Celebrating Outstanding Students

On Friday 27th June, we proudly held our very first Community Star Award Ceremony at the Seymour College Art Centre. It was a heart-warming afternoon where we celebrated our nominated students with their families, recognising the incredible positive impact they’ve made both within our school and the wider community.

The Community Star Award is a new initiative at Seymour College aimed at fostering and highlighting the positive behaviours that our students demonstrate.

How does the Community Star Award work?

Each term, students are nominated by Seymour College staff or members of the community for their efforts in creating a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment. These actions may take place within the school or beyond, showing the values we aim to instil in all our students.

At the end of each term, in partnership with Our Place, we host a special ceremony where all nominees and their families are invited. Every student receives a certificate of recognition, and one overall winner is awarded a $50 gift voucher in honour of their outstanding contribution.

Term 2 nominations were: Tyce Kilpatrick, Lucy Bohlmann, Isabelle Kemp, Sophie-Rose Cahir, Ilaria Faulknor, Serena Laxton, Thomas Arandt, Alex Wiggett, Cena Marshall, Harry Kelly and Angus Ashworth.

Our overall term winner was Isabelle Kemp. Isabelle isa positive role model both within and outside our school community. You are often seen in the yard supporting peers and younger students with kindness and compassion. Outside of school, at work you are always polite and professional when interacting with staff in the community. Your work ethic, and caring nature make you a valuable member of the college community and a wonderful role model.

Congratulations to all our nominees!

We are incredibly proud of the students who were recognised this term and look forward to celebrating even more amazing contributions in the terms to come.
