Region Athletics:
On Thursday the 8th of October, 13 Highvale students represented the college at the Eastern Region track and field championships, held at the Knox athletics track. Perfect weather and conditions greeted the athletes, and Highvale achieved some amazing results within the 23 events that we had competitors in. The majority of our 13 students finished on the podium for at least one of their events, a wonderful achievement.
Aaron P of year 7, was successful in winning the U13 boys long jump event. Syrus O of year 11 won both the U17 boys Discus and Long jump events. Finally, the year 11 boys 4x100m relay team, comprising Jake F, Syrus O, Jaxx L and Aquila P took home the crown of the champions in their event, winning their relay in a time of 46.5 seconds. A huge congratulations to all of these students, who went on to compete in the State Championships, held on Friday the 16th of Oct at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park.
