Principal's Report

Dear Parents/Guardians and friends of Nazareth

I continue to encourage our community to support both our staff and students as they strive to achieve their personal best.  As we approach the second half of Term Two, it is evident that student workloads are becoming more demanding, with exams only a few weeks away.

Establishing strong study habits and routines will play an important role in helping students reach their potential. Parents and carers can assist in a number of ways:

  • Ensure students are getting at least eight (8) hours of uninterrupted sleep each night, free from electronic devices
  • Provide a quiet and organised space for study at home
  • Support students in setting realistic goals and study timetables, and help track important deadlines
  • Communicate with Pastoral or Subject Teachers if there are any concerns impacting your child’s learning

These are just a few suggestions, but they can make a significant difference.

Over the past fortnight, our staff have continued to challenge both themselves and their students to perform at their best.  At next week’s Social Justice Assembly, a number of students will be recognised for their commendable achievements in both academic and cocurricular activities. I congratulate these students and hope their success inspires others.

Today, construction has commenced on the gymnasium extension.  This exciting development will enhance opportunities in Health and Physical Education and allow for the creation of additional learning spaces.  We anticipate completion by the beginning of Term 4.

I would also like to sincerely thank our Nazareth College Community Association (NCCA) for their ongoing commitment and fundraising efforts.  Their work provides countless opportunities for our students.  In the coming month, the NCCA will be supporting a Vocational Major class project to develop an outdoor gymnasium and exercise area – an exciting initiative for our school.

The College is extremely grateful for the time and dedication of NCCA members.  If any families are interested in joining the committee, please contact them via email ncca@nazareth.vic.edu.au

Some of the wonderful initiatives coordinated by the NCCA include:

  • BBQs
  • Mother’s and Father’s Day breakfasts
  • Support for Opening Evening
  • Assistance with Naz Day activities
  • Management of the second hand uniform shop
  • Sponsorship of school programs and activities
  • Organisation of Trivia Nights

Scholarships are now open for the 2027 school year.  Please refer to the College webpage for further information.  Alternatively, please contact Ms Angie Palmer should you have any queries. https://www.nazareth.vic.edu.au/enrolments/scholarships/

God Bless, and thank you for your support.
