Victorian Careers Show

Recently, on the 14 May, the Year 10 students went to the Victorian Careers Show to learn more about possible jobs, courses and pathways after high school. The event gave us the opportunity to explore different industries and speak to people from many different universities, TAFEs and training organisations about future careers.

Throughout the day, there was a lot to see and do. Many stalls had displays and information about different subjects and careers on which some might want to do, which made the experience more interesting and engaging.

Students were able to ask questions and get information about different pathways that they may want to follow in the future.

The excursion was a really useful experience because it opened our eyes to the many opportunities available after high school. It encouraged us to start thinking about our interests, strengths and goals, while showing that there are many different ways to achieve success.

Year 10 Occupational Health & Safety Day

As part of their preparation for upcoming Work Experience placements, our Year 10 students  participated in an engaging Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Incursion designed to equip them with essential workplace safety knowledge and skills.

Throughout the day, students took part in an informative presentation exploring workplace rights and responsibilities, hazard identification, safe work practices, and the importance of maintaining a positive safety culture in the workplace. Students also completed a range of workbook activities that encouraged them to apply their understanding to real-life workplace scenarios.

A key component of the incursion involved students successfully completing the Safe@Work General Module Test along with an Industry Specific Module Test, helping to ensure they are well prepared for the expectations and responsibilities they may encounter during their work experience placements.

The program provided students with valuable practical knowledge and reinforced the importance of safety in all work environments.

👏We congratulate our Year 10 students on their excellent participation and commitment as they prepare to represent Nazareth College positively in the workplace community.
