Parents' Association and PAL organised events

Thank you to everyone who attended our Parents' Association meeting last Tuesday. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together as a parent community, hear from our College Leadership team and discuss the funding proposal.
Funding Proposals
Drink Fountains
We are excited to share that funding has been approved for 11 new drink fountains across the Primary and Secondary School. This will include replacing five older units in the Secondary area and installing two additional units in Secondary and four new units in Primary. These units will include drink bottle fillers, a welcome new addition to the school’s infrastructure.
Angelo’s Village
We are looking forward to the refurbishment of Angelo’s Village, including the purchase of new play equipment. Plans are underway, and we can’t wait to see the space once completed.
Flexible Seating
Flexible seating options have been purchased in the Primary area, including wobble cushions, Howdahug Chairs and Virca Analogy Rocker Chairs. Teachers have reported that the seats are being well used and are having a positive impact on student focus and overall learning in the classroom.
A big thank you to those parents who submitted these funding proposals and to every family in the College who contributed to the funds utilised to support these projects.
We are always interested to hear from our Community on any other ideas they may have for how we can positively contribute to the students’ learning and school experience. If you have any suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us: parentsassociation@johnxxiii.edu.au.
The Funding Proposal form can be found here.
Proposals must be submitted by 5pm on Friday of Week 2 to qualify for consideration at the upcoming Term meeting.

Whether your child is just beginning their journey in Pre-Kindergarten or navigating their final years of Year 12, this presentation is for you.
Parenting today looks very different from a generation ago. We've moved beyond the era of strict, authoritarian approaches, but many parents are left wondering: if not rules and consequences, then what? How do we raise children who are independent, resilient, and emotionally healthy, while still providing the guidance they need?
That's exactly what Dr Justin Coulson will explore in this engaging, evidence-based presentation. A father of six, author of nine books on parenting and family life, and co-host of Channel 9's Parental Guidance, Dr Coulson brings warmth, humour, and genuine insight to the topics that matter most to families today.
On the night, you can expect to explore:
- How to better understand your child's emotional needs at every age and stage
- Practical, science-backed strategies to strengthen your relationship with your child
How to create a home environment where children genuinely thrive
This is a wonderful opportunity for our entire Pre-K to Year 12 community to come together, be inspired, and connect with other families over refreshments afterwards.
