SCHOOL LEADERSHIP MESSAGE

PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Well done to everyone on a fantastic Term Three. Across the school all staff and students have consistently put in their best efforts and achieved some fantastic results.

This term started with us celebrating and recognising NAIDOC week, and our Year 10s were soon off to work experience in Week 3. In Week 4 we had our Term Three Student 360s and Course Counselling day, while Weeks 5 and 6 saw Science Week and Book Week. Each of these weeks contained fantastic opportunities for students to immerse themselves in learning activities related to the theme of the week.

Over the last three days of this term, we’ve run our annual Kick Start Confidence Transition program. As part of this, all Grade 6 students from our local primary schools have attended KSC for three days. They have participated in a range of activities including getting to know the school and staff, regular Year 7 classes and other special activities. This is a great opportunity for these students to gradually become more comfortable in a secondary setting as they prepare for the big jump next year. All 106 students who have attended over the last three days have been wonderful to work with, full of smiles and look like they’ve had a great time. We are looking forward to seeing them again later this year, and then next year as our new Year 7 students.

Term Four is always a big term and we are again looking forward to a great end to 2024. Our Year 12s will finish their classes in Week 3 before starting their important exam period. Early next term all other students will be receiving their classes and timetables for next year. Cup Day in Week 5 will give us a shortened week before our end of year exam period. On November 25th our Headstart program will begin, where all students start their 2025 classes. The final day of classes for our current Year 10 and 11 students will be Friday 6th December, while final day of classes for all other year levels will be Friday 13th December. Our annual school Presentation Night will then be on Tuesday 17th December.

I wish all staff, students and community members a wonderful and relaxing break over the next two weeks, and I look forward to seeing everyone again in Term Four.
