Campus Principal

Term 3 is a consolidation term at schools, and we’ve really enjoyed seeing this occur at Morwell Campus.  Our staffing changes have all had positive impacts, with student behaviour incidents at a low for the year, students engaging positively in the classroom, and the whole place feeling settled and focused.  This aligns with the positive data we are seeing return from our Student Attitudes to School Survey, which suggests that Morwell Campus students continue to be more positive about their schooling experience than many of their peers statewide – which we’ve been able to celebrate for many years now.

Coming into Term 4, we welcome Patrick McGrath back into a leadership role.  Patrick has been on leave this year, though he has done some CRT work for us from time to time when he has been available.  In Term 4, Sheryl Tangi will take leave, and Patrick will step in as Year 10 Team Leader while she is away, a position he will continue in when he returns to us full-time in 2027.

The last few weeks have been jam-packed with activities, and they continue to be as we head into the end of term.  During Week 6, we focused on Staff Wellbeing, as we do each year.  We know that staff who are happy and positive have a flow-on effect on student learning and engagement.  We also had Bullying No Way week, with activities promoting pro-social behaviour throughout the week, and a student vs staff dodgeball game (which staff won) to top off the week.  Last week was Science Week, and the science team has had great experiments and activities every day for students to enjoy.  With such wonderful experiences happening around campus, it’s hard not to be positive!  Well done to the various teams and staff who led all of that work.

We celebrated our highly engaged students with a pizza lunch for all students who earned 4.0 on their Learning Behaviour Updates.  The next round of LBUs are released just before Parent Teacher Conversations at the end of term.  It won’t be long until these are open to parents to book and we encourage you to get in quickly to book appointments once they do.  If you are having trouble accessing your Compass profile to do so, contact our friendly administration staff and they can assist you with your username and password.
