Book Week Donations & Second Hand Sales
Book Week is just around the corner (17 - 21 Aug), and the PTFA is excited to be celebrating this year's theme, 'Book an Adventure – A Symphony of Stories' with a Second Hand Costume Sale and Book Sale!
Second Hand Costume Sale
We're inviting our school community to donate any Book Week costumes that are still in good condition. Whether it's a favourite character costume that's been outgrown or one that's no longer needed, we'd love to give it a second life.
Costume donations can be dropped off at Reception from now until the week of Book Week (17th Aug).
Then, from Week 4 (3rd Aug), families will have the opportunity to browse and purchase costumes for a small donation. It's a wonderful way to find an affordable Book Week costume, reduce waste, and support our school community at the same time.
Second Hand Book Sale
We're also inviting all families to have a look through their bookshelves and donate any pre-loved children's books that are in good, clean condition. Whether it's picture books, chapter books, novels or non-fiction, we'd love to give them a new home with another young reader.
Book donations can be dropped off at Reception from now until the week of Book Week (17th Aug).
During Book Week, the PTFA will be selling the donated books at recess and lunchtime, giving students the opportunity to discover a new favourite book.
All funds raised from both sales will go towards supporting future PTFA initiatives and enriching opportunities for our students, making this a wonderful way to encourage a love of reading while giving books and costumes a second life.
Thank you for helping us make this year's Book Week celebration a memorable one. We can't wait to see our students bring their favourite book characters to life and discover their next favourite read!
PTFA Bunnings BBQ & Bake Sale – Thank You!
A huge thank you to everyone who supported our recent PTFA Bunnings BBQ & Bake Sale. It was a fantastic success, and we are incredibly grateful to our wonderful school community for helping make the day such a positive fundraiser.
Thank you to all families, friends, and community members who stopped by to purchase a sausage, drink, or delicious baked treat. Every purchase helps the PTFA continue to support our students and our school.
A very special thank you goes to our amazing volunteers who generously gave their time throughout the day: Somer Toprak, Marko Wakim, Emma Renouf, Nicholas Hollingsworth, David Wisesould, Deb Rogan, Kylie Foreman, Steph Tuisuva, Beth Bennett, Maddy Leddin, Susan Adriaanse, David Brozinski, Camila McLeod, Christie Stephen, and Nate Craig.
Your willingness to volunteer your time, energy, and enthusiasm is what makes events like these possible. We are so appreciative of your support and the incredible community spirit you bring to King's College.
We are currently finalising the fundraising totals from the day and look forward to sharing the final amount raised with our school community once everything has been confirmed.
Thank you once again to everyone who volunteered, baked, donated, and came along to support the day. We couldn't do it without you!
