Learning Diversity Leader - Ms Belinda Smith

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) on School Students with Disability.

The NCCD is an annual Australian process that helps schools identify and record the level of adjustments being provided to students with disability so they can participate in education on the same basis as their peers.

This week, as part of our commitment to ensuring all learners at St Bernard's can access their learning on the same basis as their peers, Julie and I met with our Regional Office to discuss the support we are currently providing for our students. This valuable conversation helped strengthen our processes and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring every student at St Bernard's receives the support they need to thrive. If you believe we can do more to support your child/ren, please reach out. We would welcome the opportunity to work together.

What is the difference between a movement break and a brain break?

movement break gets students physically active to increase alertness and energy.

It may involve activities such as walking, stretching, jumping or other gross motor movements.

brain break is a short mental pause from learning that helps students reset their attention and reduce cognitive fatigue. Although it may include movement, it can also involve mindfulness, breathing exercises, puzzles, or calming activities completed in the learning space.
