Digital Technologies Leader - Lisa Geary

There was great excitement this term as we opened the doors to the new STEM Lab. 

The students had the opportunity to explore the different areas of the room where they can design, build, innovate, investigate and explore how things work. It was wonderful to see the excitement and wonder on the faces of the children as they toured the new room. This term, the students' learning will be based on Physical science with a focus on different types of forces. Each lesson they will have the opportunity to take part in hands-on learning to assist their understanding of the science concept. They will also explore the Design Engineering Process as they design, build, test and improve their models. An important part of the STEM program is working collaboratively, giving the students the chance to bounce ideas off one another and learning to compromise.  

Already, only two lessons in, the students are showing such incredible imagination and problem solving skills and they design and build their creations. It is definitely going to be an exciting Term 3.
