ACS ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
A huge day at the ACS Diocesan Athletics Carnival, Wednesday 5 August 2026.
Massive congratulations to our entire athletics squad for leaving everything on the track and field! With the following students, Ella H, Mia R, Henry B, Levi C, Max C, Emilia B, Hudson Y, Maximus H, Ethan W, Arie R, Cooper C and Quade H, all gaining selection into the ACS Athletics team. These legends will fight for their spot and further representation on September 11 at the Polding Athletics Championships in Glendale.

Nippers & Steppers Program
Our Nippers and Steppers program is a fun introduction to touch football for our youngest participants, focusing on developing basic skills, confidence and enjoyment of the game. 10-week program commencing Monday 24th August

Primary School Touch Football Competition – Season 2
Our Primary School Competition provides students with the opportunity to participate in touch football in a fun, inclusive and family-friendly environment. Players of all experience levels are welcome, whether they are new to the sport or have played previously.
Commences: Monday 17th August
Registrations close: Friday 7th August
TAMWORTH JUNIOR OZTAG
Tamworth Junior Oztag is excited to announce that registrations are now open for our 2026 Spring Primary School Oztag Competition, and we’d love to invite your students to get involved!
Our competition is designed to be fun, inclusive and school-based, giving students the opportunity to represent their school while developing teamwork, communication and sporting skills in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Competition Details
- When: Wednesday afternoons 4:30pm or 5:15pm
- Starts: Wednesday, 2nd September 2026
- Who: Primary school students from 6 years
- Cost: $110 per player
Season: 10 rounds plus 2 weeks of finals
School-Based Teams
Teams will be created based on each participating school wherever possible, allowing students to play alongside their classmates and friends.
Players will simply wear their school sports shirt as their playing jersey, making it easy for schools to participate without the need to purchase team uniforms. Players will just need official Oztag shorts or tights for competition which can be purchased at the oztag fields.

NSW SCHOOLS MTB SERIES
Tamworth Mountain Bikers to Host Huge Triple-Event Weekend
Tamworth Mountain Bikers are excited to announce that Tamworth will host a round of the NSW Schools MTB Series in August 2026, bringing young mountain bike riders from across the region and beyond together for an exciting day of competition, participation, and community spirit.
The Friday schools event on 28 August 2026 will form part of a massive triple-event mountain biking weekend, with additional riding events taking place on Saturday and Sunday that are open to riders of all ages and abilities. The NSW Schools MTB Series provides students with the opportunity to compete in a safe, supportive and fun environment while encouraging healthy lifestyles, confidence, and participation in outdoor sport.
The event will feature:
School mountain bike racing
Live timing
Insurance coverage
Raffle prizes
Funduro options
Food and refreshments
Tamworth Mountain Bikers are inviting and encouraging local primary and secondary schools to support the event by sharing information with students and families.
The weekend is expected to attract riders and visitors from across New South Wales, providing a fantastic opportunity to showcase Tamworth’s cycling facilities and community spirit.

We love celebrating the achievements of our St Nicholas athletes. If your child or team has competed in a weekend game, gala day, or representative trial, we want to hear about it!
Please send all match reports, results, and photos for the newsletter to: sntsport@arm.catholic.edu.au by Monday close of business each fortnight (Weeks 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10).
