Senior Secondary School

As we move into the second half of the year, Senior School students are entering one of the busiest and most important periods of their academic journey. Alongside a range of exciting celebrations, leadership opportunities, and future pathway events, there is a strong focus on assessment preparation and ensuring every student is well positioned for success beyond PBC.

YEAR 10 SET PLANNING AND FUTURE PATHWAYS

 

A major focus for Year 10 students this term has been planning for the senior phase of learning. The recent Info Night & Subject Fair provided students and families with valuable insights into the diverse range of subjects and pathways available at PBC.

 

SET Plan interviews are now underway, giving students the opportunity to finalise subject selections and develop an individualised pathway that aligns with their goals, interests, and future aspirations. Families who have not yet booked their interview should refer to the instructions sent via email. Students requiring additional support or guidance are encouraged to visit the Senior School team in Y Block.

CURRICULUM AND ASSESSMENT

 

Assessment preparation is now a priority throughout Senior School. Assessment calendars, examination timetables, and schedules for Years 10, 11, and 12 are available on the school website. Students are reminded to familiarise themselves with their examination dates, times, and locations, and to arrive in full school uniform at least 15 minutes before the commencement of each examination.

 

Exam Shutdown Periods

  • Year 12: Full exam shutdown during Weeks 9 and 10 (7-18 September).

  • Years 10 and 11: Full exam shutdown during Week 10 only (14-18 September).

     

These examinations provide an important opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning and develop valuable examination skills ahead of future assessments.

YEAR 12 UPDATE

 

As Year 12 students move closer to graduation, there are several important dates and reminders:

  • Term 3 classes for Year 12 students conclude on Thursday 3 September, followed by a compulsory two-week examination block.
  • All mock examinations, Applied subject examinations, and VET catch-up assessments during this period are compulsory.
  • In Term 4, students will return for two weeks of normal classes before Study Week (SWOTVAC) and External Assessments. Attendance during this period remains compulsory.

YEAR 12 GRADUATION AND FORMAL

 

Excitement is continuing to build as preparations progress for the Year 12 Graduation and Formal, which will be held on Thursday 19 November 2026. Families will shortly receive detailed information regarding ticketing, event arrangements, and frequently asked questions from Deputy Principal Mr Kennedy. Students and parents are encouraged to monitor their emails for these important updates.
