Morning Verse

Morning has come, night is away, We rise with the sun and welcome the day. Flowers that grow, birds, and the bees, All rise with the sun and welcome the day.

With joy we greet the morning sun, Who shines with love on everyone. Who shines on land and plant and sea, Who shines on you and shines on me.

Our sword-making in the garden has really taken off! The older children have continued working carefully on their wooden swords, showing such determination and pride as their creations begin to take shape. The younger children have now begun making their own wooden blocks, enjoying the process of sawing, sanding and working with the wood alongside their friends.

The garden has also been full of little discoveries. The children have been spending time noticing and exploring the small creatures that make their homes amongst the plants, watching with great curiosity and care as they discover the busy little world around them.

The morning circle we are currently enjoying is ‘Rumpelstiltskin’, which is bringing new enthusiasm to our mornings.

Our bush walk last week brought a particularly memorable encounter. We came across a Mulga snake. It was a wonderful reminder that bushwalking clothing is important for keeping our children safe. While we will continue to avoid that area, please remember that children need to wear closed shoes and long denim jeans on bush walk days. Cassia 2 has now finished bushwalking for the year, while Cassia 1 will continue for as long as we can until the spring heat no longer permits. 

Our Spring Festival will be on Thursday, the 17th of September, from 8:30 to 10:30/11.00 am. Look for the invitations, which will be sent home with your child next week, for more details. 

Please come dressed in the colors of spring, with some flowers to share for making the garlands and a plate of healthy finger food for morning tea.

Another gentle reminder to please be on time to pick up your children at 2.50 pm and 1.00 pm on Fridays. The children are quite tired by the end of the day and are ready to go home, so we would really appreciate everyone making every effort to arrive on time and leave the Cassia garden promptly.
