VICTORIAN PREMIERS’ READING CHALLENGE

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge commenced in March and concluded in September. This year was the 20th birthday of the challenge and across our state, more than 76,237 children and students completed the Challenge, and together, 3,092,257 books were read. At McKinnon, we had our dedicated book lovers registering their reads. 

 

We will celebrate our reading challenge participants in the next newsletter.

 

I hope our participants enjoyed the challenge in 2025 and discovered some new favourites!

EAST CAMPUS 

With the end of the school year rapidly approaching, some families may be wondering about library services when their child is based at East Campus. The library team will be sharing this information with Year 7s in the coming weeks. 

 

  • Books are available at East Campus for personal reading or wide reading;

  • The book collection is located on Level 2 at East Campus near the Student Managers' Office; 

  • These books can be read and returned to the shelves when the student is finished;

  • The collection includes fiction books, nonfiction books and graphic novels;

  • New books are added to the collection throughout the year. 

 

Reservations:

  • The books at McKinnon Road campus library are also available to students based at East Campus. Students may place reservations via the library catalogue. Library staff deliver to East Campus each week; 

  • Books that have been reserved must be put in the return box near the book collection;

  • Students can contact the library team for assistance with reservations.
