On Friday afternoon, our school community gathered for a very special event – our F.I.R.E Carrier Commissioning Ceremony.  F.I.R.E stands for Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education. This important student leadership role empowers students to promote understanding, respect and reconciliation within our school community. Our new F.I.R.E Carriers will help lead conversations and actions that support learning about First Nations cultures and histories, encouraging all students to walk together in the spirit of reconciliation.

During the ceremony, our four new FIRE Carriers, Sophie, Sophia, Cleo and Ella, were formally commissioned for their leadership. A particularly meaningful moment in the ceremony involved the symbolic warming of hands, which were then gently held near each student’s head, heart and hands. This powerful gesture represents a commitment to think with wisdom (head), lead with compassion (heart), and act with courage (hands) as they take on their responsibilities.

We warmly congratulate Sophie, Sophia, Cleo and Ella on stepping into this significant role and look forward to the positive impact they will make throughout the year as they help ignite reconciliation through education in our school community.
