To try the demonstration tests, clink this link and use the buttons below to choose a year level and then a NAPLAN domain: writing, reading, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) or numeracy. Please note that answers are not provided. As all Year 3 students complete the writing test on paper, there is no Year 3 writing demonstration test.
For all online tests, once ‘finish’ is selected or time has run out, the student’s responses will be submitted and will no longer be able to be viewed.

We would like to share an update regarding the use of digital learning subscriptions at our school. Following careful consideration and a review of current educational research, the school has decided not to provide subscriptions to Reading Eggs and Mathseeds. While these programs can be useful for consolidating skills, they are not an essential component of our teaching and learning program.
Our school follows an Explicit Instruction model of teaching, which focuses on clear and systematic instruction, guided practice, and timely feedback. Research indicates that this approach is highly effective in supporting student learning, building strong foundations, and ensuring success for all students.
Lessons within the Explicit Instruction model follow a carefully planned and structured format to maximise learning time. As each part of the lesson is purposeful and teacher led, there is no allocated time during the school day for programs such as Reading Eggs and Mathseeds.
We recognise that many families value supporting learning at home and we will continue to provide guidance and resources that align with our teaching practices and support student progress. Families who wish to purchase a subscription for home use may do so via https://readingeggs.com.au/pricing/
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child’s learning. If you have any questions or would like further information about our teaching practices, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
As part of the iSea iCare Program the Sustainability Leaders went to St Louis Primary School in Aspendale for the Term One Workshop. We learnt about the amazing sea creatures that live in our ocean. We also learnt how to teach the Grade Two students about the importance of looking after our beaches and sea life. It’s very important that we all put our rubbish in the right bin because if we litter it could end up in the ocean, beach, lakes, rainwater pipes and drains.
We practiced our presentation, teaching the Grade Two students at St Louis about the importance of looking after our oceans and how plastics and our rubbish can end up in our ocean if we are not careful. This can be very harmful to our sea life.
We are looking forward to presenting to the Grade 1/2 class here at OLA, teaching them all about putting rubbish in the right bins.

We celebrate achievements at OLA every day in the classroom. Outstanding achievement is celebrated at every assembly in the front of the school. Congratulations to all the students who received an award last week.
