The House Reading Cup brought students from every house together to celebrate a shared love of reading. Through discovering new stories, exploring ideas, and earning thousands of reading points, students helped make this one of our closest competitions yet. Congratulations to Oxley House on their victory, and well done to all students for their enthusiastic participation.

Together, they have helped strengthen our reading culture and inspire a love of books across the school.

Strings Concert Opens Book Week

Book Week began on a high note with a wonderful strings concert in the library led by Ms Weekes and many talented string students. Inspired by this year’s Book Week theme, Symphony of Stories, the beautiful music welcomed our school community into a week of stories, imagination, and creativity, highlighting the powerful connection between music and storytelling. Thank you to Mrs Weekes and the strings students for such a memorable and inspiring start to Book Week.

ISS Student Shadow Judges

During Term 3, many students joined together as a community of readers, exploring outstanding Australian literature, sharing ideas, and voting for the books that resonated most with them. Students have voted for our 2026 Ironside Books of the Year:

Year 6 Students Create a Lasting Library Legacy

Our library has been transformed thanks to the creativity and dedication of a group of Year 6 students who have worked alongside Mrs Priday during lunchtimes on a special legacy project.

Inspired by this year's Symphony of Stories theme, students created a collection of large-scale book cover artworks. These beautiful pieces bring colour, creativity, and a celebration of reading to our library, inspiring others to discover and connect with stories.

We thank our Year 6 artists for their passion, teamwork, and lasting contribution. Their work will inspire readers for years to come.

Help Us Grow Our Puzzle Collection

We need your help! Our students are completing a puzzle a week in the library. Help us grow our puzzle collection. The library is currently seeking donations of complete jigsaw puzzles (200–1000 pieces) in good condition. If you have any puzzles at home that are no longer being used, we would be grateful for your support.
