Ironside OSHC Achieves Strong National Quality Standard Result
Ironside Outside School Hours Care (OSHC), operated by the Ironside State School P&C Association, has received an excellent result following a recent partial reassessment and re-rating by the Department of Education’s Early Childhood Regulatory Authority.
The assessment reviewed the service against the National Quality Standard (NQS), which sets the national benchmark for the quality of education and care services across Australia. Ironside OSHC was confirmed as meeting all areas of the National Quality Standard.
The Regulatory Authority highlighted a number of strengths across the service, including its approach to children’s health and safety, the quality of the physical environment, strong staffing arrangements, positive and respectful relationships with children, and collaborative partnerships with families and the wider community.
The service was also highly commended for its leadership, commitment to quality and proactive approach to maintaining high standards. Teamwork, reflective practice and community collaboration were recognised as particular strengths.
As part of the assessment process, some minor opportunities for further improvement were identified, including strengthening consistency in documentation and planning and continuing to review educational practices. These recommendations will form part of the service’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.
The outcome is a wonderful recognition of the dedication and professionalism of the Ironside OSHC team and their commitment to providing children with a safe, welcoming and enriching environment.
The P&C would like to congratulate and thank the OSHC leadership and staff for their hard work and acknowledge the families and wider school community whose ongoing involvement contributes to the strength of the service.
