Honours Pocket
Congratulations to our Rayner House Captain Julia P for receiving the first Honours Pocket in 2025. The Honours Pocket is awarded to those students who have achieved the highest level of excellence, service and character in a variety of school endeavours. Julia has been awarded an Honours Pocket for Academics, Swimming and Debating. Congratulations Julia!
World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships
Congratulations to Olivia W, Prisha R and Jade H (Year 12), who represented Australia at the 2025 World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships.
They ended Term 1 with a week of intense and exciting competition, travelling to Kuala Lumpur to join 170 other participants from almost 20 countries.
Particular congratulations go to Olivia and Prisha, who were finalists in the competition. In an outstanding result, Olivia W finished sixth in the world in Persuasive Speaking with a passionate speech on abuses in the world of international ballet. She also placed 20th in the world in debate, and finished 35th in the overall world rankings. Prisha was a finalist in persuasive speaking and interpretive reading, where she finished 20th and 21st respectively, and placed 55th in the overall world rankings.
We congratulate our students and the rest of the Australian team on an outstanding result, and for making us all proud for representing our country at this year’s world championships.
