ANZAC Day Assembly
The Huntingtower community, from Year 5 to Year 12, united on Thursday 24 April to commemorate ANZAC Day. We were honoured to be joined by Matt Fregon MP, who addressed the school and shared his reflections on the Spirit of the ANZACs and the importance of service.
Year 10 Media Music Video 2025
Last term, the talented Year 10 Media students wrapped filming on an ambitious one-shot music. We are thrilled to announce the final cut of 'Beauty and a Beat' by Justin Bieber is officially out now!
This high energy production was a true team effort as they planned choreography, costume changes, props and dynamic lighting setups. This was led by: Shiven (Director), Samy (Assistant Director), Dylan (Producer), Rohan (Justin Bieber & Associate Producer), Godwin (Cinematographer), Nyah (Nicki Minaj & Choreographer), Eloise (Production Design), Zora (Production Design), Johnny (Casting & Props), Darren (Script Supervisor & Props) and Oliver (BTS Director & Props).
Special thanks to our supportive staff of Ms Danielle Growse (choreography and film support), Ms Mel Beal (media support and wrangling), Mr Stefan Sakellaridis (film, lighting and music support) and Mr Troy Jensen (lighting and filming support). Finally a massive shout-out to all the epic student extras that helped behind the scenes and brought the party vibes (see if you can spot yourself in the music video!)

What’s Happening in Visual Arts
Our Visual Arts students in both Art and Visual Communication Design have been enthusiastically exploring a range of techniques, materials, and themes across all year levels this term.
Visual Communication Design
Our Year 7 students have been learning about the elements and principles of design by developing a series of drawings, which they’ve brought together into beautifully presented concertina booklets.
In Year 8, students have been stepping into the world of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design, creating app concepts based on their own areas of interest. Their imaginative thinking and digital skills have been a real highlight.
Year 9 students are wrapping up a vibrant unit on Australian branding, finalising their packaging designs for juice products. This project has allowed them to explore typography, colour theory, and market appeal through creative branding solutions.
Our Unit 1 VCD students have just completed a comprehensive branding project, developing visual identities for fictional businesses. They applied their designs across a range of product applications and compiled professional style guides to accompany their brand.
Meanwhile, Unit 3 students have launched into their SAT folios, tackling a wide array of creative themes. From architecture and product design to interactive app concepts and promotional materials, their work showcases strong conceptual development and refined visual communication skills.
Art / Art Making and Exhibiting
Year 7 students have been diving into the theme of nature through both Gelli and Foam Relief printmaking. They have also developed their drawing skills using oil pastels and sgraffito, drawing inspiration from both historical artist Wassily Kandinsky and contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama.
Year 8 students have been building their ceramic skills through the creation of 3D tiles, mini hand-built pots, and a self-directed vessel project. They’ve taken inspiration from Kusama’s iconic flower and dancing pumpkin sculptures while learning about various glazing techniques including underglaze, brush-on glaze, and dipping glazes.
Year 9 students have been developing painting techniques, beginning with vibrant food portraits on polycarbonate inspired by Billie Justice Thomson. They’ve now moved into an exciting open-choice painting project on skate decks, where creativity and personal expression have truly flourished.
Unit 3 VCE Art students are deeply immersed in their SAT folios, experimenting with a wide array of materials and processes as they refine their subject matter. This includes wheel throwing, slip casting, kintsugi ceramics, glass fusing, textiles, and a variety of painting mediums such as oil, acrylic, gouache, and watercolour.
We are proud of the creativity and dedication our students are demonstrating and look forward to sharing more of their work as the term progresses.
