What's Happening at CHPS

Sports News

On Monday the 21st our Teeball Mixed team took on the Region Finals against some amazing teams. We managed to have excellent weather for the event, and battled it out against some of the strongest schools in the area. The team battled hard all day, and showed incredible resilience in every match. They continued to take it to the top teams, but unfortunately some of the games slipped away from us. The team finished 7th on the day, but still had an amazing day and worked so hard to make it to Region Finals. Well done to Jasper (SKT), Corey (SLD), Jay (SMG), Tyler (SMG), Ethan (SMG), Jovi (SKF), Zaid (SEP), Nathan (SJB), Nate (SJB), Luke (SKF), Noah (SKG) and Cooper (SKG).

Amazing effort, and well done for all your hard work!

Senior Hooptime

On Monday the  7th of August, we had 7 teams of Senior students participate in Hooptime at Kilsyth Basketball Centre. We are so proud of how well all students played- showing teamwork and excellent sportsmanship in all games. Both of our Rookie teams went through the day undefeated, which was an incredible effort by all!

We had two teams make the grand final, Future Stars and the All Stars Boys. Both teams played incredibly well and the All Stars Boys team has made it through to the next stage- congratulations, a fantastic effort!

A big thank you to all the helpers on the day- these events could not run without your support. We look forward to hearing how the All Stars teams go at the next stage!

Great Golfing, Olivia!

Olivia (SKF) continues to impress the junior golfing circuit, with a win last weekend in the 36-hole Junior Kelly Cup at Churchill Waverley Golf Course.  In coming weeks she will contest several State Schools Victoria (SSV) events, including the SSV 12 and under State Trials.  We wish her the best of luck!

Library News

This term in the Library we have been reading and exploring all of the CBCA Shortlisted Books. Now that Book Week has arrived we are enjoying lots of fun activities celebrating our favourite books. Last week the Prep and Junior students enjoyed a visit from author Caz Goodwin and her friend Little Matilda.

This week the Middle and Senior students are being inspired by author Felice Arena.

We have also guessed the JSC Representatives as they hide behind their favourite books in the Library and attempted the Where’s Wally Hunt in Yarrunga.

Today is Book Week Dress Up Day, when everybody comes to school dressed as their favourite book character – keep an eye out in next week’s Newsletter for more photos.
