Book Week

I have to admit, Book Week is one of my favourite weeks of the year! Thanks to Jess Ward, and the teachers in the English Curriculum team for organising a wonderful week of celebrations for CHPS.  Some highlights were the author visits from Caz Goodwin and Felice Arena, the Preps starring in ‘Tiddalick’ during their Drama Toolbox’ incursion, exploring the beautiful shortlisted books during Library sessions and spotting Wally in Yarrunga.

I implore you to take the theme of this year’s Book Week - ‘Read, Grow, Inspire’ and continue to show your children the wonder and joy that books can bring into life every single day. Reading can help us grow in so many different ways - in knowledge, in empathy and compassion and in our ability to think creatively and with imagination.

Road Safety - Drop Off Zone

We cannot emphasise enough how important it is to keep student safety in mind at drop off and pick up times. Please do not drive into the drop off zone after school, unless you have a permit for the disabled parking spots. With high foot traffic just after dismissal time, reversing into the car park or driving in and doing a u-turn is particularly dangerous. Please take note of the rules for drop off zone parking in the image below.

Compass Communication

Term 3 has certainly been jam-packed with wonderful opportunities for our students. I’m sure it can be hard to keep track at times! Just a reminder to read and check the level Compass posts each week for important information and reminders for your child’s level.

Thank you,
