Sport Bulletin

Clayfield College continues to celebrate outstanding student achievement across a diverse range of sports, with students excelling at regional, state, national and international levels.
Supporting many of these journeys is the College’s SHINE Program, which continues to enrich and support students in pursuing their sporting goals, while enhancing their development, experiences and opportunities across a range of performance pathways.
Senior School Highlights
On the international stage, Hayley Colless will represent at the upcoming Oceania Athletics Championships in Darwin, while Jessie-Rose Talbot-Cooke prepares to compete at the prestigious Youth League Karate Championships in Manila, taking on elite international opposition in kumite.
In representative school sport, Chloe Davison continues her outstanding football campaign, having been selected in the Queensland Schools Football Team to compete at the upcoming School Sport Australia National Football Championships, following Metropolitan North’s Queensland State Championship success.
In AFL, Riley Taylor has earned selection in the Met North 13 to 14 Years AFL Team and will represent at the Queensland Schools State Championships, while Maddison Fellowes recently represented Met North at the Queensland Schools 16 to 19 Years Basketball State Championships, continuing her strong representative basketball pathway.
Our college netballers also celebrated significant success, with Zoe Goodes-Stibbards and Lacie Clarke selected in the Met North Netball Team, which claimed the Queensland Schools State Championship title, the first in 14 years. A special acknowledgement to Zoe, who was also named as a shadow selection for the Queensland team.
In gymnastics, Koko Woolnough delivered an exceptional performance at the Queensland Gymnastics State Championships, claiming the Level 8 Under 15 State Championship title. Her outstanding results included Gold in Vault, Gold on Bars, Bronze on Beam, and 4th on Floor.
On the tennis court, Michael Maddalena delivered an exceptional campaign at the 2026 J125 Kawana Junior Championships, progressing to the Grand Final after a series of impressive performances. Unfortunately, severe weather impacted the tournament, with the second day of finals abandoned, denying Michael the opportunity to contest the championship match. Nonetheless, his outstanding tournament performance reflects his continued growth and strength within the sport.
In endurance sport, Clayfield athletes continue to impress, with standout performances at the Queensland Athletics All Schools Cross Country Championships, where Grace Hunter delivered an exceptional performance to finish 1st in Queensland, while Xavier Hunter competed strongly in a highly competitive field.
This is a powerful reflection of the breadth, depth and quality of student sport across Clayfield College.
