Principals Message

It has certainly been a strong start to Term 2 with our students proudly representing the school across a broad range of academic, co-curricular and sporting opportunities.

Many of our students proudly participated in ANZAC Day ceremonies across our community including our school leaders Hannah and Matari speaking eloquently at the Narrandera service and laying a wreath for our veterans. We attended the time capsule opening at the Narrandera Cottage Museum, Our resident cowboy Dustin has qualified for the National Finals Rodeo Australian Championship to be held in July. While Zara represented NHS at the Riverina U14s AFL carnival in Byron Bay.

NHS swimmers have competed at the NSW Combined High Schools Swimming Championships in Sydney while our Open Girls Netball team played Albury High school in Wagga. Basketball has been well represented for both boys and girls competitions with the girls open team moving to the next leg of the competition in Sydney after convincingly winning their games at the Southern Basketball Finals. The school athletics carnival was a great success with Gillenbah taking home the trophy.

In other news, many of our students have been involved in the TAFE YES program trying their hand at welding and engineering, our chess team has been making moves on the opposition, and the Maths, Homework and Study Centre is bustling with keen students on a Monday and Wednesday after school.

With winter quickly approaching please check that your child has a school jumper and warm school uniform to wear. If they have grown out of their uniform, please contact the school office for assistance.

I am truly looking forward to what student successes and achievements the second half of Term 2 brings.
