Reporting Overview

For information on reports for both the Junior and Senior Schools, refer to the 'Teaching and Learning' tab on the Girton Grammar School website. There is also a Senior School Report Information Booklet and a Junior School Report Information Booklet available on Astra within Parent Services. When reports or results are published on Astra, parents will receive notifications from teachers as well as via email and Astra News from the Reports Department.

Merit Certificates: Depending on the number of Merits received, Merit Certificates will be presented to students at the end of Semester 1 either in House Tutor or at the end-of-term assemblies, and recipients will be awarded an Academic Astra Badge. Parents will be able to access a copy of the Merits on Astra under the 'Academic Reports' tab on the student's profile during the school holidays.

Instrumental Reports: Semester 1

Parents of students who have instrumental music lessons will receive a Semester 1 Report. This report will be made available on Astra, and parents will be notified. For any student who ceases instrumental music lessons, a final report will be processed and made available on Astra.

Senior School: Continuous Reporting on Astra

For most subjects, each time students undertake any specific assessment task, the subject teacher will provide written feedback on the task and the grade achieved on Astra. Feedback on general progress will be provided online each term, including a summary of your child’s effort and dedication to the subject in general.

Parents receive notifications via Astra. At the end of the year, all parents will receive an online Academic Report: the 'Statement of Results'.

Accessing reports and grades via Astra

Academic Reports

You can access your child’s PDF Report via Astra. The 'Academic Reports' button is located under your child’s photo, to the right of their Timetable button. Select this and you will see all the Girton Academic Reports, along with Merit Certificates.

Online Grades view

To view all of your child’s grades and feedback, log in to Astra, then select the ‘Grades’ tab underneath your child’s photo. You will see a full overview of any published grades and comments, and can select the relevant subject from the drop-down list. You can also access the published grades by clicking on the notification you receive to go directly to the feedback. Select the FAQs icon located on your parent Astra dashboard for help with accessing grades and other helpful hints. Under the 'Parent FAQs' subheading, you will find links to instruction pages and helpful video tutorials from a past parent information session.

Other Reports

Only Girton Grammar Academic Reports are available via the 'Academic Reports' button on Astra. If you want to view other reports (e.g. NAPLAN), you need to select 'Documents' on your opening page, then click on your child’s name to the right of the screen, and the other reports will be shown under the 'Government Reports' subheading.

On Astra, you can also see your child’s Timetable, Calendar, Due Work and lots more by selecting your child’s name on the left-hand side of the home page. To return to the Astra home page, click the Astra logo on the top left.
