Girton Racing Team

On Saturday 3 May, members of the Girton Racing Team (GRT) attended Round 2 of the 2025 Victorian HPV (human-powered vehicle) series at Casey Fields. The race was a six-hour event that featured a total of 98 trikes, three of those being Girton's very own Infusion, Introuble and Intrepid.

Infusion (driven by Nate Malone, Quinn Casey, Josh Ashby, Hamish Vos, Ted McMillan, Bao Long Hoang Nguyen and Marlow Harvey) placed 14th in the middle open category and 87th overall. This was a great result for these boys, as for most of them it was their first time racing.

Introuble (driven by Blair Horsburgh, Charlie Whelan, Felix Landsberg, Jonathan Maslunka, Noah Warnakulasuriya, Owen Pomeroy, Thomas Andrews and Xavier Potter) placed 10th in the middle open category and 66th overall. The Introuble boys had an amazing race with some very tough competition in their category.

Intrepid (driven by Sebastien Loraine, Teagan Whiteman, Caitlyn Whiteman, Chloe Phillips, Lachlan Krueger, Henry Hall, Jack Pickering, Emily Currie and Dylan Currie) placed 7th in the open category and 58th overall.

We would like to thank all the GRT staff who attended the event and made sure the day ran as smoothly as possible for the students and parents. We would also like to thank the parents who made it possible for students to get to the event and volunteered for marshalling duty. A huge thank you to Robin Kirby for getting the trikes race-ready and for the continued support he has shown the team.

All students who attended should be very proud of the results we have achieved at this event. The Girton Racing Team will now be training hard for Round 3, the seven-hour event at Sandown on Saturday 9 August.
