Music Camp

Earlier this term, students from Year 7 to Year 12 participated in the 2025 Music Camp - an incredible 3-day experience filled with rehearsals, workshops, activities, and performances! Students from Senior Band, Guitar Ensemble, Intermediate Band, and Vocal Ensemble immersed themselves in extended group rehearsals and fun activities, creating new connections between other music students across year levels, and strengthening their performance skills in preparation for the College’s Mid-Year Music Concert.

Day One began with a full day of rehearsing within our ensembles, receiving valuable notes that really improved each groups’ performances! This was interrupted by watching “Miss Americana”, a documentary by Taylor Swift revealing the intimate details of her life within the music industry from a young age.

Day Two consisted of more rehearsals preceding an exciting Music Trivia conducted by the 2025 Music Captains, Erin Miles and Xavier Phillips! This turned out to be a huge success, allowing for students to meet students they wouldn’t have otherwise formed relationships with! Later in the day, we had an immersive experience with African Drumming, teaching us the rich and valuable culture of their instruments and vocal expressions!

The third and final day saw the ensembles travel to Langwarrin Park Primary School for a chance to perform in front of their students! This performance went exceptionally well, fueling the young students’ passions for music. Finally, the camp concluded with a barbeque lunch held at the College.

What an incredible experience for our students to meet new people, find growth in their ensembles and to rock out! A huge thank you to Mr. Chiodo, Mr. Parsons, Mr. Del Vecchio, Mr. Stenning, Ms. De Reland, Mr. Law and Ms. Csabi for organising and making this amazing camp happen!
