Attendance Matters

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to the fifth edition of Attendance Matters.
As we prepare for the second half of the academic year, we’d like to take a moment to highlight a few key expectations to help ensure all students begin Semester 2 positively and prepared. Semester 2 will commence on Tuesday, 10th June. As always, we remind families that consistent school attendance is essential to student success. Our ongoing target has been a minimum attendance rate of 95%, and we sincerely thank our students, parents, and carers for the continued effort and commitment shown toward achieving this goal.
Every lesson matters.
Every day counts.
Many students will begin new subjects this semester, making it especially important that they arrive at school fully prepared each day. To support a smooth and organised start, we encourage families to assist their child in reviewing, restocking school supplies, ensuring any additional materials required for new subjects are purchased.
A few practical reminders to support daily organisation:
• Students should collect all required books and materials in the morning for the classes they will have before recess
.• Returning to lockers between classes is not permitted, as this causes delays and missed learning time.
• To help stay organised, students are encouraged to record what they need for each subject next to it on their timetable and place it on the inside of their locker door for quick reference.
With colder and more unpredictable weather approaching, traffic along Warrandyte Road may become increasingly congested in the mornings. If you are driving your child to school, we recommend allowing an extra 5–10 minutes for travel to help ensure a calm and punctual start to the day.
Thank you for your continued support. Together, we can ensure every student is present, prepared, and engaged for a successful Semester 2.
Regards
