Cricket Clinics

Thanks to Ashwood Cricket Club who facilitated Cricket Blast clinics with our Years 3 to 5 students at the end of last term.

Division Athletics

The sun came out for the competitors at the Monash Waverley Division Athletics on Wednesday 7 October. 33 students competed at Bill Sewart Track in East Burwood in high jump, long jump, triple jump, hurdles, 100m, 200m, 800m, shot put, discus and relay, representing the Monash Heights District and Essex Heights Primary School. 

All students were keen to compete after their training sessions at school and over the holidays. They tried hard to beat their personal best in their events, performing extremely well. 

Congratulations to everyone who competed and proudly represented EHPS. 

The first and second placegetters qualified for the Eastern Region event. Good luck to the following students:  Amali, Aarohi, Amiya and Elroy at the Eastern Region Athletics on Thursday 22 October at the Knox Athletics Track. The Compass event notice has been published; consent is due now and not later than Tuesday 20 October.

A huge thanks to the families who came to cheer and support the students.

Last Wednesday 7th October my fellow athletics teammates and I went to Bill Sewart Athletics Track to compete in the Division Athletics, representing Essex Heights. Overall, I felt energised and pumped, ready for the challenging, yet fun day ahead. I was in the 200metre sprint and relay team. Sadly, I didn’t make it to Region but I still had a booming day, cheering with everyone around me. 

Thanks to Ms Hocking, my Mum and everyone who cheered me on, especially Cassidy. I can’t wait for what things await me in the future.    Scarlett – Year 6

At Division Athletics I competed in the 100m and 200m sprints and the relay. The competition was challenging but I tried my best. We were proud of our effort in the relay, placing fourth. Thanks to my Dad and grandparents for making the time to watch my races and cheer for me. Congratulations to those people who made it to Region athletics and good luck.     Narelle – Year 6 

Division Hot Shots Tennis

20 Year 6 students qualified for the Monash Waverley Division Hot Shots Tennis finals. The event has been rescheduled to next Tuesday, 20 October, and will be held at Tally Ho Tennis Club in Mount Waverley.

The new event notice for the rescheduled event has been published in Compass. Consent and payment are due now and not later than Monday 19 October.

Region All Star Girls Hoop Time Basketball

8 students from Years 5 and 6 have qualified to compete in the All Star Girls' Basketball Hoop Time Region Finals on Thursday 5 November at Nunawading Basketball Stadium in Burwood East.

Event details have been published in Compass. Consent is due now and not later than Monday 2 November. 

EHPS 2027 Swimming Team Trials

Based on results from this year’s swimming program or previous times, 50 students have been invited to attend the Essex Heights Swimming Trials at Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre (MARC) in Glen Waverley on Friday 20 November.

Refer to the event notice published in Compass for details. Consent and payment are due now and not later than Wednesday 18 November.

Students selected to represent EHPS will compete at the Monash Heights District Swimming competition early in Term 1 next year.
