District Athletics Results

On Friday 4th September, we had 47 of our very talented athletes compete in the district athletics carnival. It was an incredible day, with lots of students getting personal bests and ribbons. Of the 47 students who attended, we now have 17 representing Carnegie Primary on October 8h in the Kingston Division carnival. Carnegie finished the district day in 2nd spot overall and represented our school proudly.

We would like to wish all students heading to the division athletics carnival all the best and hope that you continue to have more personal bests!

A special congratulations also needs to be given to Zach and Emily as they both broke the district records in their events.

A big thank you to Mr Pollard, Mr Lello and Ms Tebb  for supporting us on the day and making sure that we made our events in time.

We would also like to acknowledge a wonderful moment of sportsmanship from Year 4 student Vincent during the 800m event.

With approximately 150m remaining, Luca fell and appeared unlikely to be able to finish the race. Seeing that his fellow student needed help, Vincent made the selfless decision to stop his own race and immediately run over to check on Luca. Vincent helped Luca back to his feet and supported him all the way to the finish line.

This wonderful act of kindness and sportsmanship was met with a huge round of applause from the spectators in the stands. Carnegie Primary School is incredibly proud of both boys and the way they demonstrated courage, compassion and care for one another.

Congratulations to all students below for making the team!

We would like to wish our Division Team all the best for October 8th and hope to see students pushing hard to make the regional team.
