Eclipse House News

Another really enjoyable term in Eclipse, filled with plenty of celebrations. We’ve marked birthdays alongside a number of school achievements, and it has been wonderful to see our students recognised for their efforts. Congratulations to Craig Wiech and Jaycob Trevenen on your well‑deserved recognition and impressive results in the recent House Swimming Carnival.

It is clear that the winter sport season is now underway, with large numbers of students heading out on leave for training on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. This certainly makes for a much busier Monday and Wednesday in the house, with plenty of energy and a great mix of sports and activities happening.

I would like to acknowledge the growth shown by the Year Nines. There is still work to be done, but their progress from the start of the year to now has been evident. A big thank you goes to the supervisors for their support, as this cohort often requires a little extra guidance to reach the standard and independence expected in the senior houses.

The Year Ten group has shown strong, organic growth, and there has been a noticeable improvement in their maturity and their ability to follow house rules and routines. As expected, the Year Eleven and Year Twelve groups have made a seamless start to the year, settling in well. With a mix of pathways across the senior students, some are consistently studying or attending training, while others, more fortunate with their schedules, have been able to spend extra time socialising and supporting the younger students. The consistency shown by these senior groups has been invaluable and sets a positive tone throughout the house.

I'd just like to say a big thank you to all of the staff that have helped out this term - the supervisors, admin, cleaning, and the dining team; as well as a big thanks to Luke Altham and Bailey Ettridge for coming up and staying in Eclipse house this term. Both Luke and Bailey did a great job settling in, I hope you enjoyed your time up here and good luck for next term.
