Endeavour House News

Dear GSG Boarding Families,

With the first term now complete, it is a pleasure to celebrate the enormous achievement of our students as they settle into Endeavour House this year. Across the term, students have made significant progress in navigating and understanding “the boarding way”, while embracing the new and exciting opportunities – and freedoms – that living away from home provides.

Our students have shown great courage as they navigate many “firsts”. They are finding their place within our community, working hard to build friendships, and managing the demands of school life simultaneously. I have been particularly impressed by their willingness to develop strategies to support homesickness, foster positive friendships, and settle into daily routines.

This year’s cohort is a highly social group, and there is a natural ease in the way the boys and girls interact. While there have been several times this term when I have needed to be very clear and direct about expectations, overall, students are demonstrating a growing understanding of what healthy relationships look like. It has been heartening to see this reflected in positive, respectful everyday interactions.

I would also like to sincerely thank Endeavour families for placing your trust in us to care for your precious young people. The staff and I have greatly appreciated the texts, phone calls, and emails exchanged over the past nine weeks, ensuring we are supporting each student with care, patience, and consideration as they continue their boarding journey.

As we look ahead to Term Two, I have been speaking with students about the exciting opportunity to demonstrate leadership through the role of House Leader. Year Eight Endeavour students who are interested in nominating for House Leadership are invited to write to me, addressing the questions outlined in my recent email.

Nominations close:  Friday 24 May (end of Week One, Term Two)
