News from our Principal

Mrs Sue Clay| Principal

Dear Parents,

Last weekend a number of families supported the school by attending a Trivia Night in the school hall. A huge thank‑you to our parents, Anna Giovenco and Nicola Ainsworth for the energy, creativity, and enthusiasm they poured into making the night such a success.

From organising tables and costumes to rallying teams and contributing to the fundraising efforts, their organisation and support resulted in creating a fun, lively atmosphere, helping to raise an impressive amount of funds for the school. The “Casino Royale” theme was a hit and the dress attire and decorations certainly added another element to the atmosphere! A big thank you to everyone who supported the event with their time in preparing for the night or contributing donations. A great team effort!

Events like this remind us how lucky we are to have such a dedicated and spirited community. We’re grateful for everything you all do to make our school a vibrant place for our children to learn and grow.

Staff Development Day Reminder

A reminder that Term 2 Week 1- Friday 24th April will be a Staff Development Day (Pupil Free) held offsite. It is also a long weekend with the ANZAC Day holiday falling on Monday 27th April, making it an extra special long weekend for you all.

Congratulations to Mrs Wing, Ms Formica, Ms Natoli-Wright and Mr Slattery who were commissioned last Thursday in their roles as REC and Beginning Teachers in Catholic education. It was a beautiful Mass held at St Mary’s Cathedral and celebrated with many other new Catholic educators across our system of schools.

A special time and occasion for us at OLF as we journey with them in their chosen vocation as Catholic educators. We are proud that they belong to our community!

 Prayer for Holy Week

As we go about our day O God,

As we move through each week,

each term, each year

As we strive to walk with Jesus

as people of service;

Remind us that we are the face of Christ.

We are his hands, his words, his heart.

May your grace, mercy and peace

Help us to stay true to all that you call us to do,

So that through us,

Others will see the model of service

That Jesus your Son gave to the world.

We ask this prayer in Jesus’ name.  Amen

Enjoy your Easter and holiday break with family, friends and each other. May the risen Lord fill your heart with hope and joy this Easter and may the blessings of the season bring you new life.
